Coaching Responsibilities
Coaches are expected to create practice plans, set the lineup for each game, help players improve their skills, and establish a culture of respect and positive sportsmanship on their teams. Head coaches will work with their assistant coach and team manager to ensure communication with parents is clear regarding practice and game times and are expected to represent RAYB values.
Background Check
In order to be in the gyms, all coaches must complete a background check and concussion training; for travel teams, they must also be officially rostered with MYAS.
A coaching or team manager position requires you to provide care, education, training, instruction, and supervision to children. This position also requires a background check and RYBA works with the Trusted Coaches organization to have a national background check performed.
All coaches and team managers are also required to go through concussion training. This training is also facilitated through Trusted Coaches.
